About this

Website

Our long term goal is to make this website a hub for communication and learning for the Sherard Family. Back in the day we had a family newsletter that was put together and mailed out to keep everyone up to date and connected, but times sure have changed!

Webmaster Rachel is putting her Interaction Design skills to work coming up with an exciting and innovative platform where you’ll be able to keep up to date with other family members through photos and blog entries about important life events, such as weddings, births, graduations, and more.

You’ll be able to learn about Sherard Family history through articles, collections of audio recordings, genealogical data, and historical photographs. And even share family recipes, health info, hobbies and interests through blog posts written by experts within our own family.

About our

Swag Shop

Everything is sold through two “print on demand” providers: Printful, and Printify. This means that we haven’t pre-ordered anything, none of us have a dining room full of boxes, instead each item is printed and shipped at the time it is ordered. All we’ve done is upload the unique family logo designs that appear on each product, and then these third party companies handle all the fulfillment, packing, and shipping for us, whew!

Printful (link opens new tab or window) is a singular operation with multiple facilities around the world, so you’ll find their products to be consistent quality and reasonable shipping timeframes no matter where you are.

Printify (link opens new tab or window) is more like a middleman providing the technology services for other small print on demand companies. It’s similar to the way that DoorDash or UberEats provides app ordering and delivery for small restaurants.

In each product description, it says which company is providing the product. For Printify products this includes the print provider and their location.

Printful and Printify set prices for each product, then we’ve marked them up 25-30% (to a nice round number) for pricing here. This profit margin goes 100% towards supporting the Reunion activities and our family website.

Shipping costs are also set by Printful and Printify, and are charged per item. We’ve tried to keep prices low to compensate for these additional shipping charges.

100% of the proceeds go toward supporting the Reunion, our family website, and all of the things we do to support the family.

We are unable to guarantee the quality of any of the items because we haven’t actually put our hands on them. In selecting the products, we thoroughly read product descriptions and reviews to choose highly rated, popular items.

So far we’ve received great feedback on many of the apparel items, including the T-Shirts, Leggings, and Premium Hoodie.

Unfortunately, because all items are printed to order, they can NOT be returned. If you’ve got something that doesn’t fit, why not gift it to a cousin? 😉

There is a limited exception—if a product arrives defective or broken, it may be returned within a few weeks of being received. If this is the case you should save all packing and materials and contact us ASAP.

The Sherard Family Reunion Logo—the Perpetual Wheel— along with the colors green and yellow were designed and adopted by the Reunion Committee in 1978.

The designs that appear on all our Swag Shop products were put together by Rachel Sherard to carry on these traditions and symbols.

Probably! If you’d like a certain design on a different product, or something like that, feel free to contact us. We are limited by product offerings, but we’ll work with you.

Probably! We are limited by product offerings, but we’re definitely interested in new design ideas that might appeal to family members. Contact us to let us know what you’ve got in mind!

You have options to use your PayPal account or pay directly with your credit card. We are only accepting electronic payments, no checks by mail or bank transfers.

No, we will do our best to verify that everyone who orders from the Family Swag Shop is actually a member of the Sherard Family. After you place your order, you will wait for approval from a website administrator. You will receive an email from Sherard Family when your order has been approved.

You will be contacted by email from Sherard Family for verification.

When you place an order you can enter any shipping address you like. We will verify that both the purchaser and recipient are family members before order approval.

If you’re buying gifts for someone else, and also purchasing items for yourself, you should place separate orders (additional shipping fees will apply, but will still be less than shipping yourself).

Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout. Most items will ship separately, so you should expect charges for each item in your cart.

Because all our Swag Shop products are sold through third party “print on demand” providers, we have zero control over the shipping costs. We would love to offer free shipping like many other online stores do, but that would require us to inflate pricing to cover these uncertain costs. We’ve chosen instead to pass shipping costs directly to you, and keep product prices as low as possible to compensate.

Clothing items that are sold through Printful may be combined for shipping. There will still be a shipping charge for each item, with lower charges for the additional items. You can get more explanation of how Printful shipping works by clicking this link (opens in a new tab or window).

Expect all other items to ship individually. Items sold through Printify come directly from various manufacturers (as noted in each product description). Some items are shipped individually for optimal package safety (such as hats, mugs, shoes).

Shipping times will vary based on origin of product, and could be as long as 2-3 weeks. Because shipping is handled by the third party companies, we have no control over timing.

Printful items (mostly the apparel) come from a manufacturing facility that is close to you, so they often ship in under a week. Take note of the company and country of origin in the product description

Anywhere in the world! While PO Boxes are acceptable, we recommend physical addresses for the smoothest delivery. Printful products will ship from their nearest facility, and Printify products ship from various countries as noted in the product descriptions.

Online registration has been very successful for our last two Virtual Reunions, and we’ll continue to improve the process.

We are also hoping to have a Hybrid Reunion—so there would be some virtual elements in addition to the in person events.

More details will be announced as we get closer to the Reunion. The best way to stay up to date with all the news is to subscribe to our email and mailing list.
